Bluegrass
Wedding you say? We have performed bluegrass and old-time music
at numerous weddings over the years, and we think we have come up
with a formula for a smashing good time (of course, the main ingredients
of some fun folks, good food, good wine, and a beautiful location
will kick the whole thing off well).
If
you need a bluegrass band for your wedding or other event in the
greater San Francisco Bay Area, please contact
us!
1)
Choose a nice outdoor setting, with enough room (indoors or out)
for dancing, as well as a cozy setting for the ceremony (we'll be
posting some links here soon to several wedding sites that we have
enjoyed playing at in the south bay area...)
(pictured
at left is the Redwood Circle at the Quaker
Center in Ben Lomond)
2)
As people gather for the ceremony, some quiet acoustic music played
on the fiddle and guitar, perhaps with a mandolin (Bluegrass Stomp,
of course!)
3)
During the processional, some beautiful mandolin
duets
4)
Right after the ceremony (during the recessional) a sprightly, joyous
fiddle tune like St Anne's Reel
5)
During the reception, some bluegrass or swing music usually adds
a festive atmosphere
6)
After the meal, there's nothing like a contra or square dance to
get everybody smiling. Everyone will enjoy the dancing - however
reluctant they are at first - and suddenly it will feel like a true
celebration! We have callers that will show everyone what to do,
with a minimum of fuss (even those with three left feet),
and we can follow up with a waltz or two to wind things up on a
romantic note. Contra dance tunes might include the very danceable
Mason's Apron or Old
French, and our fiddler has a Cupid's quiver of beautiful waltzes
to play.
Of
course, we can cater the music to any style of wedding, indoors
or out, and we provide sound equipment as needed.
